An irate man in his 40s from Mbooni East Sub-County Thursday night stabbed his wife to death before taking own life in a tragic case of domestic violence.
Preliminary reports indicated that the man committed the heinous act in Ngiluni Village following a dispute. The couple has a history of matrimonial disputes.
Police reports indicated that the man repeatedly stabbed his wife killing her on the spot and later hanged himself using a rope in their matrimonial home.
It was not clear where the three children the couple have were when the tragic incident occurred but police confirmed that the bodies were taken to Kalawa Funeral Home.
Mbooni East Sub County Police Commander Ephraim Karani said the couple who operated a shop at Kalawa town were lately embroiled in unending squabbles which might have triggered the sorry incident.
“I urge those in marriage to seek counselling from a pastor or a counselor whenever they have any dispute to avoid such killings which are preventable,” advised Karani adding police were investigating the incident
