KPA expands school infrastructure in Wajir under CSI programme

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving school infrastructure in Wajir County through a series of projects implemented under its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme.

The Authority has initiated, completed and rehabilitated classroom facilities in several schools across the county to expand learning space and improve conditions for learners in marginalized areas.

Speaking on Friday during an inspection tour of the ongoing projects, KPA Board Director Ahmed Ali Muktar said the programme seeks to create safe and child-friendly learning environments while increasing access to education.

“We appreciate KPA’s support in ensuring that all children, regardless of their location or background, have the opportunity to learn and thrive. This is a positive step towards empowering communities,” Muktar said during visits to Dardar Primary School in Diif and Ibrahim Ure Mixed Secondary School in Wajir South Sub-County.

KPA has so far completed and handed over three school projects in the county, with two others nearing completion.

The projects include Abakhalul Primary School, Dardar Primary School, Ibrahim Ure Secondary School, Bililmarodi Primary School and Marothiley Primary School, all located in underserved parts of the county.

The investments form part of the Authority’s broader CSI strategy focusing on education, health and community development in areas that host or are linked to its operations.
