The Makueni County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance and Social Economic Planning, Damaris Kavoi, has appealed to area residents to give their views to be incorporated in the preparation of the 2027/2028 Annual Development Plan (ADP).
Kavoi made the appeal while addressing the media in her Wote town office on Monday where she said that the collection of views from wananchi will start from 10th to 11th August 2026 in the sub-wards before coming to the wards on 13th to 14th August 2026 respectively.
“This is our 5th and final ADP for implementing the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023-2027. It will provide the programmes and projects to be implemented by the government,” said Kavoi while addressing the media on Monday.
“We want all wananchi to come so that they can pick out development projects and priority programmes that they intend to run in the next budget. So welcome, we will listen to your views,” added the CECM.
However, she said that in the ADP, they intend to focus and give priority to high-impact ongoing projects as they are focusing more on quality public service delivery.
Among the areas they intend to prioritize, he added, include water and irrigation and high impact projects in agriculture and health sectors among them primary health care and equipping of health facilities.
Through the ADP, the government will also venture into education projects including training of youths in technical and Vocational Education training (TVETs) that they intend to equip. The government, he said will also retool and link TVETs graduates to industries.
The county will also integrate cross-cutting issues into its development priorities, including gender equality, youth empowerment, disability inclusion, and climate change, among others.
