The Kenya Institute of Supplies Examination Board (KISEB) has started collecting public views on the draft Supplies Practitioners Management (Examination) Regulations, 2026, with a stakeholders’ forum held in Machakos.
The forum, held at a Machakos hotel, brought together supply practitioners to review the proposed regulations as part of nationwide consultations being conducted by the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) and KISEB.
KISM Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Matiba, MBS, said the regulations seek to strengthen professionalism and standards in the supply chain profession.
“Public procurement spends public money, and the public is entitled to know that the officers handling that money are qualified, registered and licensed to do so,” Matiba said.
KISEB member Damaris Mukala said public participation is a legal requirement and will ensure the final regulations align with the law.
“The views being collected will help ensure that the final regulations are properly aligned with the Supplies Practitioners Management Act and the requirements governing statutory instruments,” she said.
The exercise is being undertaken pursuant to Section 36(a), (b), (f) and (h) of the Supplies Practitioners Management Act, 2007, and Sections 5 and 8 of the Statutory Instruments Act, 2013.
KISEB, which is mandated to conduct professional examinations in supply chain management, said the proposed regulations will provide a clear framework for the management and administration of examinations and professional certification.
Stakeholders have been invited to submit written comments on the proposed regulations and the Regulatory Impact Statement by October 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
