Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kenya Mr. Sultan Hajiyev on Monday joined the Narok peace group to distribute foodstuffs, bedding and soccer balls to vulnerable families in Narok town.
Ambassador Hajiyev who was flanked by Narok peace ambassador Joshua Kaputa gave blankets and maize flour to hundreds of elderly women while organized football clubs were given soccer balls.
Hajiyev called on Kenyans to love their country by contributing positively towards its development and maintaining peace.
“You Kenyans need to appreciate the beautiful country that you have. This is a gift that you have received from other generations and you need to make it better for the future generations by maintaining peace,” he said.
He lauded the peace ambassador for being on the front line to promote peace and compassion even among the poor, elderly and less fortunate people in the society.
“My friend Kaputa, I am pleased that you are leading the young people in the right direction of promoting peace. Preaching peace and compassion to those close to you is very crucial for anyone in any job or any position,” he underscored.
Kaputa reiterated that his passion is to help the needy in the society who struggle to afford basic commodities like food, education and bedding.
“I am humbled to have Ambassador Hajiyev in our midst today. This is a clear indication that he has a heart for the poor and less fortunate people in the society. We will continue praying for him to have more to distribute to more families that are struggling to place a plate of food on the table,” Kaputa said.
The soccer teams that benefited from the balls were encouraged to continue growing their talent as they preach peace in their midst and resist drugs and illegal activities that find them on the wrong side of the law.
The event was held at the Narok North Youth Empowerment Hall grounds.
