To ensure timely completion and quality standards, Kiambu County’s Service Delivery Unit, led by Chief Officer Julie Waweru, inspected ongoing works at Bibirioni Level IV Hospital.
The tour aimed to assess the progress of the flagship 200 bed health facility currently under construction in Bibirioni Ward, Limuru Sub- County. The hospital, once completed, is expected to usher in a new era of quality and accessible healthcare delivery in the region.
According to Ms. Waweru, the modern facility will house fully equipped maternity, pediatric, and surgical units, a state-of-the-art outpatient and emergency department, and an advanced diagnostic laboratory and pharmacy. “This is not just a building, but a symbol of hope for thousands of families who will no longer have to travel long distances for quality healthcare,” she said.
The hospital will also feature an administration block. During the visit, engineers and contractors assured the team that the work was progressing on as scheduled, with structural completion expected in the coming months.
The construction of Bibirioni Level IV Hospital is part of Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s broader commitment to improving healthcare across Kiambu County. In a statement read by Ms. Waweru on his behalf, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to invest in health infrastructure that delivers dignified and affordable care. “Our goal is to bring medical services closer to the people, modern, efficient, and responsive to the needs of every citizen,” the Governor emphasized.
Community members and leaders have welcome the development, noting it will greatly reduce congestion in nearby facilities and cut down travel costs for rural patients.
The project is aligned with the county’s vision of equitable healthcare access and sustainable development, making it a beacon of progress for the residents of Limuru and beyond.
