She said despite many shops and other businesses closing early, bars and wines and spirits are known to run throughout the night.

Faith Chepkoech, operator of a wines and spirits out let said she closes her premises depending on the availability of customers.

Chepkoech said they would run the out let till morning especially when tea bonuses are paid out.

She added that not all those who trans-night were genuine drunkards saying some were marauding gangs who would intercept the partakers and rob them of their belongings.

She added that some of the bodaboda riders were involved in the vice saying she had one or two riders known to her who she normally contacts in cases she wants to access her house at night.

Wilson Korir, a Secondary school teacher said he recently found himself at Kapkatet hospital after being attacked by unknown group of five.

Korir said he was head home on foot at around 11pm when the gang pounced on him, attacking with swords, clubs and pen knives.

He said the gang made away with his wallet and mobile phone, a gadget which was later recovered at Chebilat area after being tracked by detectives.

It was only recently that three people were burnt to death after they found to have stolen seven cattle.

Area Chief Charles Mutai said the three used their tightly fenced compound as the animal’s hide-out saying anyone’s attempt to access the area has proven to be futile thus raising suspicion from the locals who had lost their livestock.

Mutai said the cattle thieves used as lorry or ferry stolen livestock to unknown markets, a method they used to erase any hove print trail.

While at that, Kenyaya has order closure of all unlicensed liquor out lets while those with the documents to open their premises at the stipulated time.
