Call to shun tribalism in the country

Calls to shun tribalism and embrace a brotherhood spirit in the country dominated a church service held in Olokirikirai area in Narok North Sub County.

The service was attended by senior political leaders led by Governor Patrick Ntutu, National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichungwa, President’s Aide Farouk Kibet and National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro.

Ichungwa asked residents to beware of politicians with ill-intentions, who spread tribal messages in a bid to divide the country.

“The ‘Mt. Kenya’ was not named after any county because it is a mountain that unites all of us as Kenyans, those trying to use it to spread tribal messages do not have the good will of all Kenyans,” said Ichungwa.

His sentiments were echoed by the presidential aide who said the Kenya Kwanza administration was still on track to deliver quality services that will boost the livelihood of all citizens in the country.

He reiterated that the main agenda of the current administration is to build schools so as to improve the education sector, build roads to ease movement, improve health sector, support the small-scale traders and support worship centers for spiritual growth.

“We do not have time for tribalism. Our aim is to unite all Kenyans and ensure there is development and peace in the country. We want our children to be meaningful professionals in the future,” he underscored.

Governor Ntutu asked elected leaders to spread peace messages that will build cohesion and integration in the country, warning leaders who spread hate messages that they would not be entertained in the county.

The National Assembly Majority Whip called on Kenyans to allow the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to carry out their independent investigations and bring to book those involved in the killing of Albert Ojwang.

Osoro condemned those holding demonstrations and destroying property because of the unfortunate murder yet the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) and the police on duty had been arrested.

He promised that the government would leave no stone unturned until justice is served to the family of the late teacher.
