Nandi County Commissioner, Caroline Nzwili, has praised the close working relationship between National and County Governments leading of smooth service delivery to wananchi across all departments in the county.
Nzwili expressed delight for the close working relationship with the Nandi Governor, Stephen Sang especially his eagerness to contribute to various issues whenever she needs his input.
Commissioner Nzwili pointed out that Governor Sang leadership has nurtured a cordial working relationship between the two levels of government.
“We have an outstanding team between National and County Government officers in our county and this has enabled security agencies to solve some of the teething security challenges,” Nzwili told the Jukwaa La Wanainchi forum in Nandi which was led by Internal Security Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
The administrator revealed that they have agreed with Governor Sang that they will always work together to deliver needed services to the residents of Nandi. contention
“It is the agreement I made with the Governor that there should be no antagonism between the National and County Government which has brought this breakthrough in service delivery in Nandi,” Nzwili added.
Nzwili, further, hailed the support given by the six local Members of Parliament from Nandi in terms of development and even their input in terms of isolated security challenges.
“Our Members of Parliament any time if there was any consultation to be done, they have always cooperated and if there is mess anywhere we always talk,” Nzwili said.
Governor Sang on many occasions has demonstrated determination on how programmes of National and County Government can work seamlessly without interruptions.
In terms of fighting illicit brew, one of the main security challenges, the Sang administration helped in controlling unlicensed bars in the county and implementation of the Alcoholic Drinks Act.
Despite the positive milestones in combating illicit brew and second-generation liquor, Nandi County is struggling with outlawed brews believed from the neighbouring counties. Porous borders make it difficult for security agents to completely eliminate entry of illicit brews from neighbouring counties.
