Seven people have died in an early morning road accident that occurred at Korrompoi junction along the Nairobi-Namanga highway.

“Four women and three men were killed on the spot while several others were injured and have been rushed to the Kitengela Sub- County Hospital. We are yet to ascertain the exact number of the injured people but as some were rushed to hospital by good Samaritans,” said the Police Commander.

He revealed that the matatu’s driver is among those who died while the lorry’s driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.

The accident scene has already been cleared ensuring normal traffic flow.

The bodies were taken to the Kitengela Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

An accident between a lorry and a boda boda happened on the same spot barely a month ago, claiming the lives of a mother and her child who were on the boda boda.

Following the accident, The Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) erected several rumble strips on the stretch to curb accidents in the area which the residents have since labeled a black spot.
