Government to restructure Huduma Centres for wider access to public services

The government is set to undertake a comprehensive restructuring of Huduma centers across the country, aimed at expanding their accessibility, improving service delivery and aligning them with the national development agenda.

Speaking during a visit to the Mbale Huduma Centre in Vihiga County, the Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes PS Dr. Jane Imbunya, underscored the significance of the ongoing reforms.

Dr. Imbunya stated that the restructuring focuses on expanding Huduma Centres by enhancing infrastructure and leveraging technology to deliver efficient and citizen-friendly services.

“This initiative is aligned with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and Kenya’s Vision 2030, while seeking to ensure equitable access to government services at the grassroots,” she said.

The reforms will also emphasize on improving internet connectivity, as well as deploying modern ICT systems to bridge the digital divide and enhance public service delivery.

“The government is committed to bringing services closer to the people through technology and infrastructure investment,” she added, noting that the Huduma Centers serve as vital access points for various essential services.
