Government will not be distracted in its quest to deliver services to Kenyans, DP Kindiki says

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that the Kenya Kwanza Government will not be distracted in its quest to deliver quality services to Kenyans as promised in its manifesto during the 2022 electioneering period.

Speaking at Mwendantu grounds in Meru County during an economic empowerment forum, Prof Kindiki said there are many distractors, including those who had started early campaigns but the government will not give in to their provocations.

“As a government we are focused on delivering all the promises we made to Kenyans and our track record is already manifesting itself. We have wasted enough time on useless things and we are not ready to waste any more time,” said Professor Kindiki.

He underscored that the government-led President, Dr William Ruto, was committed to ensuring that Kenyans enjoyed quality services and improved living standards through prudent management of available public resources to enlarge the Country’s economic activities and create a conducive environment to do business.

“We are at advanced stages of expanding the Country’s economy for all Kenyans especially the majority population of the youth and women as promised during the campaign periods. We will not wait until the campaign time to buy cheap reflectors for boda boda riders or aprons for our women in order to hoodwink them to vote for us.”

“We will campaign through the work that we shall have done and I assure you that Kenyans are not fools to give in to empty rhetoric as opposed to development projects,” said Kindiki.

If we want the women of this country or the boda boda riders to support you, he added, start empowering them right away.

He said there were people discreetly opposed to the empowerment programmes that were being spearheaded by the government but challenged them to come out clearly and do it openly without fear if they were honest with Kenyans.

“Those opposed to these programmes should come out and say now so we can know where they stand. It’s either they are for the programmes or against,” said Kindiki.

In addition to economic empowerment, the Deputy President also addressed the ongoing war against illicit brews and drug abuse, which have long plagued rural and urban communities.

He termed the substance dealers as enemies of progress and vowed that the government will not relent in protecting Kenyan youth from the devastating effects of substance abuse.
