Governor Natembeya effects more changes in government

Trans Nzoia county governor George Natembeya has effected more changes in his administration, aimed at enhancing efficiency in service delivery.

Natembeya announced the changes barely days after seeing four more County Executive Committee Members (CECM) being sworn into office.

In the latest reshuffles, the newly appointed CECM Public Service Management Robert Wamalwa has been moved to the Department of Water and Environment to replace Kerio Lorot, who is also a new entrant.

Lorot now moves to Health to replace Sam Ojwang, who was holding the position in an acting capacity.

Ojwang will however remain to be in charge of the Public Service Management department in sweeping changes Natembeya said have been necessitated by the expiry of the contracts of the County Executive Committee Members.

Since the governor started bringing the changes, so far three CECMs: Bonface Wanyonyi (Water and Environment), Julia Ruto (Public Service Management) and Stanley Kirui (Gender and Youth) have been axed.

The fate of the five who have shown interest in renewing their contracts: Phanice Khatundi (Agriculture), Janerose Mutama (Education), Sam Ojwang (PSM), Pepela Wanjala (Finance), and Patrick Gacheru (Trade) remains unknown, with all eyes now focused on the governor.

Meanwhile, Natembeya has revealed that Roads CECM Chanelle Kittony who has failed to show interest in renewing her contract may soon be replaced.
