Governor signs Mutulacare implementation guidelines

The Makueni county  governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has signed guidelines for the implementation of Mutulacare, directing the County Assembly on how to impact the scheme on the house floor.

Mutula said the scheme is a county-led universal health care initiative aimed at enhancing access to quality healthcare for all residents in the county.

Mutulacare plans to fund the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) for vulnerable families, enabling them to access healthcare services.

“The vulnerable families will access quality healthcare across the county,” said Mutula, while signing the guidelines in his Wote town office.

Addressing the same forum, the County Executive for Health Joyce Mutua, announced that beneficiaries will receive comprehensive healthcare services including outpatient and inpatient services, dental and optical care, and chronic illness management.

“The beneficiaries will also receive emergency treatment including ambulance evacuations,” said Mutula.

Others present at the function included Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili, County Secretary Dr. Justin Kyambi, County Executive for Finance Damaris Kavoi and her Devolution and Lands counterparts Nicolas Nzioka and Dr. Paul Musila respectively.
