Govt connects 150 households to electricity in Ndaragwa

Residents of several villages in Ndaragwa Constituency have celebrated the successful connection of electricity, a development expected to spur growth and improve living standards in the region.

In Nairobi Village, Leshau Pondo Ward, and Ihiga Village in Ndaragwa Central Ward, over 150 homesteads were connected to the national grid, bringing light to areas that had remained in darkness for an extended period.

The initiative, commissioned at Ndogino Village, was lauded by Ndaragwa Constituency Member of Parliament George Gachagua, who pledged to ensure more households are connected.

He noted that electrical engineers will optimise every transformer to reach as many homesteads as possible.

Speaking during the commissioning, MP Gachagua emphasised that the government is actively fulfilling its pre-election pledges and urged residents to support ongoing development projects.

Local residents welcomed the initiative, highlighting that electricity is a vital facility in the digital era, where almost every household relies on electronically powered gadgets.

They also noted that the lack of electricity had slowed development despite the area’s productivity in agriculture.

“This connection will transform our daily lives and stimulate local economic activities,” said John Kamu, a resident.

The project underscores the government’s commitment to expanding access to essential services and improving the quality of life for communities in Ndaragwa Constituency.
