Omwenga’s story ‘Agroecology in Muranga improves diets, fights chronic diseases fueled the conversation on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and its intersection with equity, access and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
The December 16, 2025 event themed “Shaping Health Narratives: Celebrating Excellence in Reporting on NCDs and Unhealthy Diets” was organized by the Non- Communicable Diseases Alliance Kenya Media Awards. It aimed at feting journalists who are pivotal in driving public dialogue and influencing health policies. The event was graced by Dr Mary Nyamongo, Chair NCD Alliance Kenya Board.
