Kenyans across the 47 counties are continually supporting Members of Parliament to be custodians of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF)
In Ijara Sub County in Garissa County residents on Thursday endorsed the MPs to continue with what they referred to as a job well done. The residents now want the fund to be entrenched into the 2010 Constitution.
In a public participation forum held in Masalani town in Ijara Sub County, they expressed optimism that the MPs are equal to the task.
Led by community opinion leader Mr Salah Yarrow, they said they want stringent laws to govern the use of the fund calling for more accountability of the kitty.
Yarrow said since independence, what NG-CDF has done in Ijara has been realised after its launch in 2013.
The participants said the fund has improved development in the region including health care, bursaries for students’ and the general wellbeing of the residents.
