Kenya gears up for major ATE2025 expo

Nairobi will next month host the inaugural Africa Trade Expo 2025 (ATE2025), a premier international business event expected to unlock enormous trade and investment opportunities in East Africa.

The three-day expo, scheduled from August 8–10 at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa grounds, will bring together over 200 exhibitors and buyers from across the world to explore emerging prospects across eight key sectors of the region’s fast-growing economy.

Shabbir A. Nomani, the Chairman of the Dawoodi Bohra Community in Kenya, said the Africa Trade Expo 2025 celebrates entrepreneurial independence by empowering businesses of all sizes to explore new opportunities and chart their own paths to success.

“The Africa Trade Expo 2025 celebrates entrepreneurial independence, empowering businesses of all sizes to explore new possibilities and build their own success stories,” said Shabbir A. Nomani, Chairman of the Dawoodi Bohra Community in Kenya.

The expo is organised by the Dawoodi Bohra community through Anjuman-e-Saifee Nairobi and Umoor Iqtesadiyah Nairobi—the community’s finance and business development arm—under the guidance and blessings of their spiritual leader, Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin Aqa TUS.

Shabbir said the exhibitor list includes a mix of startups and established companies looking to expand or strengthen their presence in East Africa’s growing market.

ATE2025 Project Leader Moiz Hassanali underscored the importance of tapping into East Africa’s economic momentum. “The region’s youthful population, abundant resources, and improving infrastructure present unmatched opportunities for innovation, investment, and trade,” he said.

Hassanali shared that Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania are among the fastest-growing economies on the continent, supported by expanding infrastructure and a rising middle class demanding higher-quality goods and services, adding, “Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania are demonstrating consistent GDP growth, positioning East Africa as one of the world’s fastest-growing regions.”

The project leader also said that East Africa’s strategic location has enhanced business growth, offering a gateway to both emerging and developed markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

Beyond exhibitions, the organisers said ATE2025 will provide a comprehensive business platform featuring product showcases, matchmaking sessions, panel discussions, and deal-making forums.

They added that the event is designed to offer direct access to qualified leads and potential business partners across various sectors.

Each exhibitor will be provided with a fully equipped booth and enjoy value-added services such as complimentary WiFi, security, and marketing support. The expo also aims to position companies as thought leaders while promoting brand visibility and market entry.

The Dawoodi Bohra community, known for its business acumen and philanthropy, has played a central role in East Africa’s socio-economic landscape for over a century. The name “Bohra” derives from the Gujarati word “Vohurvu,” meaning “to trade,” reflecting the community’s deep-rooted commercial heritage.

Since their arrival in the 19th century, the Bohras have been at the forefront of embracing new technologies and contributing to regional development.

The organisers are encouraging interested participants to visit www.africatradeexpo2025.com for exhibitor details, registration, and more information.
