The Kericho County Assembly has officially opened a countywide public participation exercise to gather input on the Annual Development Plan (ADP) and Finance Bill for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The initiative is part of the county government’s strategic effort to strengthen inclusive governance, enhance fiscal transparency, and ensure that budgetary allocations are aligned with priority development objectives.
The consultations, scheduled to take place simultaneously across all sub-counties, will provide a structured platform for residents to review proposed revenue measures, expenditure frameworks, and development initiatives.
Venues hosting the exercise include Londiani Social Hall and Mugumoini Cooperative Society in Kipkelion East, PMCA Kamasian in Kipkelion West, James Memorial AGC in Belgut, Kaitui FPFK in Soin, PMCA Church in Sigowet, Tebesonik Ward Administrators Office in Bureti, and Uhuru Gardens in Kericho Town for Ainamoi residents.
Residents unable to attend in person are encouraged to submit their input via email to assembly@kericho.go.ke
The ADP outlines strategic interventions across critical sectors, including health, education, agriculture, and roads, with a focus on optimizing the utilization of public funds and achieving measurable development outcomes.
Input from residents will help ensure that capital and recurrent expenditure programs are responsive to local development needs, promote economic efficiency, and enhance the social and economic well-being of communities across the county.
By actively engaging citizens, the county government intends to reinforce participatory governance, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and enhance community ownership of development initiatives.
The consultations provide a platform for evidence-based fiscal planning, allowing policymakers to align budgetary allocations with sustainable development priorities and the county’s long-term economic growth strategy.
