Migosi Primary School in Kisumu Central Celebrates Sterling performance in Music Festivals

The head teacher, Migosi Primary School in Kisumu Central Sub County, Mrs. Rose Omollo, has applauded the unwavering support by the school’s parents and teachers leading to the sterling performance the school posted at the national drama and music festivals.

Omollo attributed the school’s sterling performance in the annual festivals on concerted effort and unwavering support by the school’s community including the parents that saw the school post best results than all the previous years in the competitions and clinch more than 8 trophies in the various categories of the competition.

“We clinched major trophies and the top positions in the various categories of the competition’s cadres and we give special thanks to our trainer Mr Fadhil Ndolo for doing a wonderful job in training the learners,” Madam Omollo explained excitedly.

Madam Omollo also attributed the school’s sterling performance in the music festivals on the hard work applied by both the learners and the teachers even as she recognized the parents’ special financial sacrifice and unwavering support to the school.

She at the same time denounced allegations that academic performance has been on the decline in the school due to over focus on extra co-curricular activities and stated that academics is at the forefront in the school where one of the candidates chosen to represent the Country in the upcoming continental debate in Rwanda hails from the school.

“I want to assure everyone that there is no decline in the academic standards but on the contrary Migosi school has made huge strides starting with academics and now in extracurricular activities and we are going to maintain the standards,” assured Omollo.

She noted that the school recently fronted one of the learners to the national debating competition who is scheduled to go to Rwanda to represent Kenya in the continental debate competitions.

“My name is Rose Adhiambo Orwa and am in charge of music and extracurricular activities at Migosi school popularly known as the home for talent and music where we fronted 8 items in the last national music festivals and clinched position one in various categories despite challenges galore, we have hopes of doing better and even clinching more trophies going forward” asserted Orwa.
