Muhoroni TVET students benefit from Sh10M KCB Foundation, NG-CDF CDF Scholarship

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Foundation, in partnership with Muhoroni constituency NG-CDF, has launched a Sh10 million programme to sponsor students pursuing technical courses at Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT).

Through the collaboration, Muhoroni Member of Parliament (MP) James Koyoo announced that the KCB Foundation has contributed Sh5 million and Muhoroni NG-CDF has invested a similar amount to enable selected local youth pursue technical education starting in the September intake.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of Muhoroni Technical and Vocational College (TVC) at Ngeny Primary School grounds in Kisumu County, Koyoo emphasized the need to equip young people with practical, market-driven skills that enhance employability.

“I have joined a partnership with the Kenya Commercial Bank Foundation to sponsor students at a cost of Sh10 million which is jointly funded by NG-CDF and KCB Foundation, with each contributing Sh5 million to enable our students to go to RIAT and train,” said the legislator.

He added that the initiative would serve as a temporary measure to train local students at RIAT while construction of the Muhoroni TVC is underway.

Koyoo reaffirmed his commitment to empowering young people with technical skills to help them achieve their goals.

The event was also attended by Principal of RIAT Gilbert Mwavali, RIAT Deputy Principal Administration Lynette Odhiambo, education officials, government officials and elected leaders.
