The Murang’a county government has launched its annual staff wellness programme aimed at boosting the health and well-being of its workforce.
Speaking at Murang’a County Referral Hospital (MCRH) during the launch, Murang’a Deputy Governor Stephen Munania highlighted the need for the county to take care of its employees who are pillars of service delivery.
“This initiative is a testament to our unwavering commitment to a healthy and productive workforce. We are not just investing in infrastructure but in people,” the Deputy Governor said.
The programme, which started on July 29 will end on August 2.
During the launch, the Deputy Governor received a donation of 20 tablets from LCT Africa, a move aimed at aiding the digitization of health services.
“We appreciate the support of our partners as we move towards a more tech-enabled healthcare system,” he noted.
Dr. Winnie Mwangi, CECM, Public Service said the programme reflects the county’s strategic approach to human resource welfare noting that, “A healthy worker is a productive worker.”
Also present were Edward Mwangi, Chief Officer, Public Service, Dr. Florence Kagwaini, Medical Superintendent MCRH, health practitioners and Murang’a County employees from various departments.
Over 5,000 county employees and their families are expected to benefit from the programme, which includes free medical check-ups, lifestyle disease screenings, and health education sessions on critical areas such as nutrition.
