Nanyuki School post stellar performance in 2025 KCSE results

Nanyuki high school in Laikipia County has posted stellar performance in 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, scoring 55 plain A’s, an achievement that has never been made in its history.

Following the excellent performance, students and teachers took to the streets of Nanyuki town to celebrate the huge milestone. The school which is among the best preferred schools in the country only managed two plain A’s and a mean score of 8.9 in 2024 KCSE examination.

Speaking to the press at the institution on Friday, Chief Principal Solomon Koech said that, this year, the school had broken the ceiling on the previous performance, raising the mean score to 9.683. “As the principal, I am very happy for the results we have just received for the 2025 cohort, they have made us proud and we are in a celebratory mood. We were able to score very high grades because our teachers went on their way to prepare our students on time,” said the Chief Principal.

The national school which had a total of 477 candidates who sat for KCSE last year, also had 130 A-(minus), 111 B+(plus),71 B(plain) ,57 B- (minus) ,24 C+(Plus) majority of them qualifying to join universities. “We finished the syllabus on time courtesy of dedicated team of teachers and good conducive studying environment. Students also ensured they did their best and embraced teachers, parents and other stakeholders,” said Koech.

He said that the highest score by the school prior to last year KCSE results released today was 15 plain A’s in 2023. He said the fact that the school had limited infrastructure with only two science laboratories serving the huge population did not deter the students from posting excellent results.
