Ottichilo restructures County government

Counties Editor's Pick Governance Vihiga

Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo, has revised the organizational structure of his government for efficient service delivery.

Dr. Ottichilo has done this through signing the Executive Order No. 1 of 2022 that brings down the number of departments from 13 to 10.

The governor said the new structure will not only bring down the wage bill but also enhance inter-departmental coordination and collaboration.

“In the new set up, there will be a county social and economic council, county ombudsman and the performance management directorate,” he said.

He said the new structure will ensure efficient service delivery by eliminating redundancies in the human resource.

The county head also stated that the changes would also ensure the needs of all interest groups are catered for in order to realize equity and equality.

“We have no option but to ensure that our plan of fostering socio-economic development of the county is implemented for the common good,” he stated.
