Public servants in the country have been challenged to be diligent and consistent, while discharging their duties to the public.
The Nairobi Regional Commissioner (RC) Gilbert Kitiyo, said in order for the government to provide efficient services to the public, civil servants should work diligently and consistently at all times.
Kitiyo also reminded public servants that their progression in service solely depends on their work output, dedication, integrity, respect for others and willingness to go an extra mile to ensure that Kenyans get what they expect from them.
The RC was speaking in Kericho, where he served as the County Commissioner, during a farewell party hosted in his honour, following his elevation to the current status.
Kitiyo enumerated the great milestones that were accomplished, when he served in the area including the creation of Soin Sub County from the expansive Soin Sigowet sub-County, the achievement of peace among residents living along the Kericho- Kisumu border especially Sondu area, CCTV connectivity within the County headquarters and the reduction of brewing and consumption of illicit brews among others.
Meanwhile, former Comptroller of State House, Franklin Bett has called on members of the Kericho County Assembly to put to an end to their incessant fights for the sake of public good.
Speaking to KNA, Bett said open differences being aired in the media about the leadership wrangles was giving the county a bad name.
He urged members of both the county executive and the local assembly to drop their differences and return to their original mission of serving the people in one accord.
The former Bureti MP, noted that there was much that wananchi expected their leaders, hence no time for engaging in empty rhetoric.
