Over 3,460 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates from Isiolo County started their rehearsals on Monday across 115 exam centres.
According to the County Director of Education, Dr. Hussein Keriyow three Sub-Counties of Isiolo, Merti and Garbatulla will have a total of 3464 candidates who sit the KCPE from Tuesday, October 29 till Thursday 31.
Among the candidates, the girls have a higher enrollment with 1742 compared to 1721 male candidates.
The manager for the private candidates centre at Wabera Primary School, Ms. Joseline Gakii, who is also Isiolo Sub-County Adult Education Officer, said she has 14 candidates this year unlike last year when there were 42.
She said the eldest candidate was 50-year-old businessman who preferred to enroll in adult literacy classes so as to be able to improve his business skills.
Wabera primary school has registered 100 pupils in the national exam and the rehearsals went on until midday with the invigilators taking the candidates through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) exam guidelines so as to avert any irregularities.
