Residents benefit as MP Aseka takes Government services to the grassroots

Residents of Eshibinga and surrounding villages yesterday benefited from the ongoing huduma initiative at the grassroots level.

The service programme was rolled out by Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka to ease access to essential government services.

The outreach brought a wide range of services directly to the community including new ID applications, replacement of lost IDs, Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), birth certificate applications and Social Health Authority (SHA) registration.

Residents, many of whom often face challenges travelling to government offices in town, turned up in large numbers to take advantage of the services offered on-site.

MP Aseka said he partnered with Huduma Centre Kakamega to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services.

He noted that many people in rural areas struggle with long distances and transport costs which often discourage them from seeking crucial documentation.

He said the Mashinani drive was designed to bridge this gap by bringing government services closer to the people, especially the elderly, students, mothers and low-income residents who are frequently left behind.

During the event, residents expressed appreciation for the initiative, saying it saved them money, reduced waiting time and eliminated the need to make repeated trips to government offices.

The MP noted that having multiple services offered at the same location made the process faster and more coordinated.

MP Aseka assured residents that similar outreach programmes will continue across Khwisero as part of his commitment to improving service delivery.

“We want to ensure equitable access to government services for all,” he said.
