School appeals for infrastructure support to boost learning

The Administration of Hill School, Eldoret Primary, is appealing for support to expand the institution’s infrastructure to address overcrowding.

The School has continued to receive additional learners due its exemplary academic performance in national examinations over the years.

Speaking in an interview with KNA, The School Principal, Naftali Mibei, decried that the school is overcrowded and over-enrolled thus overstretching the available classrooms, calling on partners, parents, and the government to come on board, to help build more classes.

“As we are talking, today, the main challenge in this school is overcrowded classrooms. The minimum learners in a class in this school, we have 90 learners, which will affect the performance. we are really requesting the government to build for us more classrooms,” he said.

He emphasized that the school needs 24 additional classrooms, so that it remains as the best school in terms of performance.

Mibei commended the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) for posting enough teachers to the school whom he added are doing their best in the implementation of the new curriculum to ensure that they maintain the school’s academic performance and also co-curricular activities.

He revealed that Hill School is performing well academically and gaining national recognition because of the exemplary results.

“Last year, we had a total of 337 learners transiting to C1 senior school and 40 to C2 school and we are eager to move forward to improve the academic performance of the school despite the challenge of the infrastructure,” noted Mibei.

He added that, apart from academics, the school is excelling in co-curricular activities.

Mibei said they present their learners every year to national level in terms of music, drama and they have even emerged as the best school in polo games and athletics.
