Six persons with disabilities receive walking devices.

A Faith Based Organisation known as DIAKONIA in Kabondo Kasipul has donated six wooden tricycles to six beneficiaries with severe disabilities in Homa bay Sub County.

The beneficiaries who were identified by Homa bay County Forum for the disabled Kenya received the devices which will enable their mobility.
Speaking on Thursday at the KNUT building, the chairman of the forum Rockefeller Okeyo appealed to other Nongovernmental organisations also to come out and help the vulnerable in the society.

Rockefeller who was accompanied by the organisation’s treasurer David Ocholla and organising secretary Philip Kabuor further called on the beneficiaries not to sell the gadgets but instead use  them for their benefit.

The chairman warned that those people who will be found selling the gadgets will be arrested and taken to court for prosecution.

He revealed that the organisation has spent over Sh.100, 000 to purchase the gadgets thus, there is need to safeguard them.

Kabuor  challenged the county government to come out and support the people living with disabilities in the region, saying they have over 100,000 people who need urgent support.
