A teacher and a student committed suicide in separate incidents in Kilungu Sub County.
In the first instance, a 16 -year- old Form One girl hanged herself using a sisal rope at Mbaini village on Monday morning at around 8am.
According to police reports the body of the teenage girl was found dangling from the roof of the cattle shed in their home.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the girl had quarreled with her mother over a mobile phone.
“The girl had a misunderstanding with her mother over the mobile phone which had been bought in secrecy by someone unknown to the mother,” read part of the police report.
Her body was taken to Kilungu sub county hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.
In the second incident, a 38- year- old teacher took his life at Kaseki village.
The deceased, Muema Kitema a teacher at Muthethe primary school hanged himself with a rope Monday midday over what is suspected to be domestic wrangles.
His body was moved to the same hospital mortuary pending a post mortem examination.
No suicides notes were found in both cases that were confirmed by County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan.
