A 41, year old tractor driver from Mawego Village in Homa Bay County has been found murdered.
Police have identified the deceased as Patrick Okello Amemo, a resident of Keiyo Village, Songor Sub-location in Tamu Location.
Confirming the incident, Muhoroni Sub-County Police Commander Fredrick Ombaka said the victim’s body was found just a few metres from his rented house, with both the head and genitals missing.
Earlier a quiet Tuesday morning in Chemelil, Muhoroni Sub-County, turned horrifying after a human head later confirmed to be Okello’s was discovered stuffed in a paper bag and dumped in the middle of the road.
It was found at around 6.40 am at Kona Mbaya area along the Achego–Muhoroni road, by a bodaboda rider.
Ombaka said the rider quickly alerted authorities following which officers from Achego police Patrol Base rushed to the scene and collected it adding moments later they received another report that a headless body had been found nearby.
He said investigators have since been deployed to probe the chilling murder adding the body was moved to Othoo mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination.
He said police were looking for the killers but so far, no arrests have been made.
