Turkana County Assembly mourns Nanam ward MCA

Turkana County Assembly is mourning the death of Deputy Speaker and Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Nanam Ward, Ekuwam Philip Lomuria.

Assembly Speaker Charles Lokiyoto confirmed that Ekuwam passed away on Wednesday, June 11, while receiving treatment.

Ekuwam began his political career as a councillor and was later elected as MCA in both the 2013 and 2017 general elections, during which he served as Deputy Speaker. He successfully reclaimed his seat in the 2022 general elections.

“As we mourn his passing, we remember Hon. Ekuwam not only as a leader but as a mentor, a unifier, and a champion of progress. His legacy of selfless service will continue to inspire us all,” said Speaker Lokiyoto.

Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai also eulogised the late MCA as a seasoned and dedicated leader who devoted his life to serving the public.

“His leadership, humility, and tireless service to his community earned him the respect of many across Turkana,” said the Governor.
