Uasin Gishu Family Seeks Help Following Disappearance of Kin

A family in Uasin Gishu County is in anguish, following the mysterious disappearance of their kin who is a medical laboratory technologist, working at Sambalat Health Centre in Elgeyo Marakwet County. The family is now appealing to the government for answers regarding his whereabouts.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret, the family spokesperson, Augustine Limo, stated that Edward Terer, was arrested by unknown people on June 2, 2025, at around 3 pm, while on duty.

He was reportedly taken away in an armored vehicle along with two other individuals, who have since been released. However, Terer remains missing, with no communication or trace of him to date.

Limo said the matter was reported at Tot Police Station, but no action has been taken so far. “We have visited all the top security offices in Elgeyo-Marakwet and Nakuru counties, but none of them are aware of any operations that could have led to his arrest,” he said.

The family has also searched various hospitals across Baringo, West Pokot, Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo-Marakwet counties in a desperate attempt to locate him, either alive or deceased, but their efforts have been in vain.

They are now calling upon the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja and Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen, to provide clear information on Terer’s whereabouts.

Tekla Yano claimed that her husband and brother, Mariko Omukel, were abducted by unknown individuals. She pleaded with the government to disclose their whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Simon Tuwei, a cousin to Terer, urged the authorities to arraign Terer before a court of law, if he is suspected of any wrongdoing.

“Why were the other two released while Terer’s whereabouts remain unknown?” he questioned.

The family continues to hope for his safe return and transparency from the authorities.
