UDA party hands Narok Township ward ticket to late MCA’s son

Robert Kanyinke Kudate has officially been handed the UDA ticket to run for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in Narok township ward in the coming by-elections.

Kanyinke is the first-born son of Lukas Kudate, who died after a long illness, only two years after he was elected to his first term in office on an ODM ticket.

The UDA Secretary General (SG) Hassan Omar Hassan handed the certificate to Kanyike to vie for the position at the Narok UDA offices.

Present during the event were Narok County Governor Patrick Ntutu, Narok Women Representative Rebecca Tonkei and Narok South MP Kitilai Ole Ntutu among other ODM leaders.

Hassan reiterated the party’s position that they were determined to win a majority of the seats in the upcoming by-election adding that Narok township ward was the first UDA ticket to issue for the by-elections.

The party’s SG told off politicians spreading tribal politics saying his party’s aim was to join all Kenyans with no tribal boundaries.

“President William Ruto has a mandate of uniting all Kenyans and that is why, together with ODM leader Raila Odinga, they formed the broad-based government with an aim of bringing all Kenyans on board in all development agendas,” he stated.

Hassan asked Narok residents to back the UDA party in the coming elections so as to boost development in the area.

Governor Ntutu thanked individuals who had expressed interest in vying for the position on UDA ticket saying they had sat down and agreed to back one candidate to fly the ticket.

“The family of the late MCA proposed their first-born son to complete the remaining term so that their father could have occupied the office. This is why I have decided to back him to vie for the seat and complete his father’s ambition,” said Governor Ntutu.

Ntutu praised the UDA party for uniting all Kenyans despite their tribal and religious backgrounds and called on Narok residents not to be swayed by tribal politics that divide the nation.

On his part, the UDA candidate asked residents to vote him into office, promising to continue his father’s legacy and support the party.

Narok town is a cosmopolitan area where majority of the occupants hail from Maasai, Kisii, Kikuyu and Kamba communities.
