Vihiga UDA elections conducted smoothly

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party elections were conducted smoothly across Vihiga county Saturday, with no major incidents being reported.

Party officials and members turned out in large numbers to participate in the exercise, which was largely peaceful, transparent and well-coordinated.

A spot check by Kenya News Agency (KNA) revealed that adequate security was deployed at the various polling centers, ensuring the voting process proceeded without disruption.

Following the conclusion of the elections, Vihiga County Women Representative, Beatrice Adagala congratulated all candidates who emerged victorious.

Adagala commended party members for maintaining unity and discipline throughout the exercise and urged the elected leaders to work closely with grassroots supporters to strengthen the party, ahead of future political engagements.

The elections formed part of UDA’s preparations for what was termed as the largest grassroots party exercise in the country, with 310,651 candidates having been registered to contest for various positions across 20 counties.

The successful conduct of the exercise in Vihiga County underscores UDA’s commitment to democratic processes, internal cohesion and grassroots participation.
