Wiper Party launches campaign for Mumbuni North candidate

The Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) has officially launched campaigns for its Mumbuni North Ward candidate, Anthony Kisoi, who has been declared the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming by-election.

The campaign launch, held at Kisooni Grounds in Mumbuni North, was led by Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, who was joined by a delegation of Wiper leaders and supporters. The leaders called on residents to unite behind Kisoi, describing the race as a crucial moment for the Wiper Party and its leader, Kalonzo Musyoka.

Governor Wavinya said the by-election was not just about the ward seat but also a reflection of Kalonzo’s political influence in Ukambani and across the country. She urged residents to turn out in large numbers and vote for Kisoi to show confidence in Kalonzo’s 2027 presidential bid.

“Let’s vote for Anthony Kisoi. He has the energy to work tirelessly for his people. Let’s come out in large numbers and send a strong message of confidence in our leader,” said Wavinya.

The Governor also emphasized the need for peaceful campaigns, calling on politicians to uphold unity and mutual respect while avoiding divisive or hateful rhetoric.

Machakos Deputy Governor noted that the contest was between Wiper and Maendeleo Chap Chap, describing it as a test of political dominance in Ukambani.

Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu added that the by-election would measure the strength of Kalonzo’s political base, urging residents to deliver victory for Wiper.

Kisoi, in his address, pledged to prioritize education and development projects in Mumbuni North once elected. He promised to expand learning facilities and champion youth empowerment.

The Mumbuni North seat fell vacant two years ago following the death of Gideon Kavuu of Maendeleo Chap Chap, and residents are now set to elect a new representative.

Other Wiper leaders in attendance included Machakos Woman Representative Kamene Kasimbi, Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa, Kilome MP Thaddeus Nzamba, Kitui Central MP Mulu Makali, Kitui Rural MP Bonny Mwalika, and former Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka, among several MCAs led by Deputy Speaker Steven Mwanthi and Majority Leader Nicholas Nzioka.
