Women caucus calls for support of government

National Assembly Women Caucus has urged Kenyans to support the government for significant development.

The Members of Parliament emphasized that Kenyans can only access essential services like improved road infrastructure and water through the government and castigated those who oppose every development initiative for the sake of it.

The Mps were speaking at Heni Stadium in Kinangop Constituency, during the Nyandarua Wezesha Mama programme under the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) meant to empower women and youths in the region.

Led by the host, Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Gitau, and her counterparts Cynthia Muge (Nandi County), Beatrice Adagala (Vihiga County), and Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County), the leaders further noted that selection panel for the Independent Electrical and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) that was mandated to oversee the recruitment process of the commissioners had all it needed to come up with the best team.

The leaders noted that Kenyans have waited long for the formation of IEBC, and it is hypocritical for the same person who called for its reconstitution to reject it, adding that many constituencies lack representatives; therefore, there is an urgent need for the IEBC to be in place to oversee the by-election in all affected regions.
