Youth encouraged to apply for Climate Workx programme

Youth in Nairobi County have been reminded to submit their applications for the Climate Workx programme through an online portal, which is expected to close on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Nairobi County Commissioner (CC) David Wanyonyi said youths interested in the programme should apply through the portal links https://www.crsp.go.ke and https://crsp.e-granary.com/register  , which were officially opened on 6th June, 2025.

The CC, who was speaking during the Nairobi County Climate Resilience Service Programme Implementation Committee meeting he was chairing in his office at Nyayo House Building said the programme has been running for the last eight months since October last year.

“In Nairobi County, we are expected to recruit a total of 48, 392 youth for the programme, which is inclusive of 21,943 youths who have been engaged in the earlier programme,” stated Wanyonyi.

He noted that since Nairobi County currently has 21,943 youths, it will only recruit a total of 26, 449 youths who will work in the 18 sub-counties within the county, noting that a total of 1,614 supervisors will also be recruited from the National Youth Service as supervisors.

“This initiative targets youth aged 18 to 35 years, and all applicants will get SMS messages from Safaricom,” said the CC, adding that the recruitment will be handled at the sub-county committees.

Wanyonyi said other areas of consideration will include the gender rule of 50:50, people with disability, whom he encouraged to apply, as well as ensuring that no household has more than two workers.

He singled out road maintenance and repair, tree planting, seedling production and seedbed production as some of the projects that will be implemented.

The government has reintroduced the Kazi Mtaani programme under the Climate Workx- Climate Resilience Service Program that will provide daily wages for workers who play a critical role in spurring economic activity.
