The Zone Two auditions took place on Saturday, August 17, 2025, at Githurai Market in Ruiru Sub-County, where young people from Juja, Ruiru, and Kiambu Sub-counties demonstrated their skills in music, fine arts, fashion and design, poetry, sports, agriculture, and technology innovation.
The event categories encompassed Creative Arts covering music, fine arts, fashion and design, and poetry, alongside sports competitions, youth in agriculture showcases, tech innovation presentations, and the prestigious Mr. & Miss Youth Kiambu County Pageant.
Ali Osman, County Executive Committee Member for Youth Affairs, Sports and Communication, who was present at the Zone one auditions, emphasized the county government’s commitment to youth empowerment and talent development.
“These auditions represent our commitment to identifying, nurturing, and celebrating the incredible talent our young people possess. We are investing in their creativity and innovation because they are the architects of our county’s future,” he said.
Grace Wanjiku, a 22-year-old fashion designer from Ruiru who participated in the Zone Two auditions, expressed excitement about the opportunity to showcase her work.
“This platform has given me the chance to display my fashion designs and connect with other talented youth. The county government’s support for young entrepreneurs like me is encouraging and motivating,” she said.
Winners from both Zone One and Zone Two will advance to represent their regions at the Grand County Event scheduled for August 29, 2025, at the Kiambu County Headquarters, where Governor Dr. Kimani Wamatangi will serve as the chief guest.
The talent search continues with Zone Three auditions planned for Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Kikuyu Town at the new bus park, featuring participants from Kiambaa, Kikuyu, and Kabete Sub-counties.
The comprehensive three-zone approach ensures equitable participation from across Kiambu County, providing young people from all sub-counties with opportunities to demonstrate their talents and compete for recognition at the county level.
The initiative demonstrates the county government’s strategic focus on youth development, recognizing that empowering young people through talent development and innovation support is essential for building a sustainable and prosperous future for Kiambu County.
