Alego-Usonga MP Samuel Atandi has challenged Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party renegades to reconsider their position and support the party leadership.
Atandi warned that leaders opposing the party risk losing their seats if they fail to recognise the leadership of Dr Oburu Oginga and return to the fold.
The legislator spoke at Agoro Oyombe Primary School in Alego/Usonga Constituency after officially opening renovated tuition blocks funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) at a cost of Sh7.5 million.
“There are a few people in our community walking in the opposite direction. We urge them to come back because the wave coming will sweep them out of power,” said Atandi.
He said the Nyanza region fully supports President William Ruto and the broad-based government, adding that local leaders would work to ensure the President receives overwhelming support in next year’s General Election.
According to the MP, residents were satisfied with the performance of the broad-based government because it had initiated development projects across the region.
Atandi cautioned Kenyans against politicians making unrealistic promises ahead of the election period, saying wananchi should remain focused on leaders committed to development and unity.
“I want our people to remain steadfast in ODM,” he said.
On development, Atandi pledged to improve learning infrastructure in schools throughout the constituency.
“I am committed to ensuring all our schools have modern infrastructure to support quality education for our children,”
