National examinations to run smoothly, education official

At least a total of 81,716 candidates will sit for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations in Makueni County in 2025.

The revelations were made by the Makueni County Quality Assurance Officer (CQAO) Mr. Richard Mulozya while speaking to Kenya News Agency (KNA) in his Wote town office where he disclosed that a total of 30,672 candidates will sit for KCSE this year.

Mulozya said that 14,838 boys and 15,834 girls will sit for the examination that kicked-off on 21st of this month with French orals, music and home science planning, among others.

“As a county, we are prepared to conduct the various national examinations this year. The Centre Managers and all those involved to oversee the exams have been briefed accordingly,” said Mulozya while speaking to KNA in his Wote town office on Thursday.

The total number of candidates per sub county are Makueni 4,811, Mukaa 3,375, Mbooni East 3,363, Makindu 1,956, Kibwezi 2,534, Kathozweni 2,456, Kambu 2,697, Kilungu 1,964, Nzaui 4,095 and Mbooni West 3,421.

In Kenya Junior Schools Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations there will be a total of 28,217 candidates with 14,671 boys and 13,506 girls.

The total candidature for Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) is 22,867 and 11,677 boys and 11,190 girls respectively.

Speaking to KNA separately, the Makueni County Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Director Abubakar Hassan said that there will be a total of 437 supervisors and 1,673 invigilators to oversee the KCSE examinations.

Hassan also said that there will be a total of 1,311 supervisors and 3,367 invigilators to ensure the KJSEA and KPSEA examinations are done well. The KPSEA examinations will be done from October 27 to 29 while that of KJSEA will kick-off on October 27 to November, 3 adding that all Centre managers have been briefed accordingly.
