Pridelnn in partnership with TGI makes deal to open additional eateries

Hundreds of young people with experience in the hotel industry will get jobs, following the establishment of a TGI Fridays (TGIF) world class restaurant in Nairobi.

The entry of the TGI Fridays into the Kenyan hospitality industry was announced last evening at a Nairobi hotel after Pridelnn signed a collaboration with the American francize.

Under the agreement, PrideInn will roll-out up to 10 TGI Fridays restaurants across Kenya, with the first location expected to open by the end of this year at PrideInn Azure in Nairobi.

While making the pronouncement, Pridelnn Hotels, Resorts and Camps Group Managing Director, Hasnain Noorani, said the establishment of additional restaurants will offer opportunities to hundreds of Kenyans.

“We will definitely need a team of great people working specifically for the TGIF within Pride in Azure. We are looking at an average of nearly 80 people working for the TGIF within just one branch alone and that brings in an additional extra employment, extra value add that we are adding within the country”, Noorani stated.

He said the entry of TGIF in Kenya will also add value and bolster the growth of the country’s tourism sector.

“The growth of tourism will create the ripple effect that Kenya needs, not only as an employment within Pridelnn but also creating general employment across the country. We want to make sure that we are at the forefront in terms of being able to grow the tourism space in this country”, Noorani added.

Also, to benefit from the restaurant are communities as TGIF plans to outsource raw materials locally.

“There are other products that we will buy locally wherever we can. We will work with the team here in the supply chain within Pridelnn to make sure we are using local suppliers, local manufacturers, and local products where we can”, said Phil Broad, the TGIF Global President.
