National Police Service recruits 10 candidates in Ijara

The National Police Service recruited 10 candidates in Ijara Sub-county in Garissa, two women and eight men in an exercise held at the Masalani Police Station grounds.

According to the Recruiting Officer, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Paul Langat, there were 74 candidates who converged at the recruitment centre, of which 67 were men and seven women.

He said after a thorough processing of the youth, the Police Service managed to settle on eight men and two women who successfully passed through the all stages of recruitment.

SSP Langat said most of the recruits did not attain the mandatory D+ aggregate in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam, while others did not attain the required grade of a D+ and above in English and Kiswahili.

Parents of the candidates in show of solidarity and support, spent the better part of the day at the Masalani Police Station, with high hope that their sons and daughters would get recruited.

A spot-check by KNA, indicated satisfaction by the residents who concluded that that there was satisfactory level of fairness and transparency in the recruitment exercise, and commended the recruiting officers for integrity and other security agencies who took charge at the recruitment centre as early 7.00am in the morning till 6.30pm in the evening.

The recruitment exercise was also undertaken in Bothai and Hulugho Sub-counties among other centres within the expansive Garissa County.
