Newly-appointed Shabana FC’s head coach Ahmed Fathi has declared his intension to take the club to greater heights including clinching the SportPesa Premier League title next season.

Speaking to the press after his arrival in Kisii town, the Egyptian tactician outlined his plans to put the team at the helm of major tournaments in the country and across the continent.

`”We have analyzed the team very well and our objective as a club is to compete very sharply for the Premier League title and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions,” he said.

The 40-year-old acknowledged the huge fan base at the club and pledged that the technical team will do its best to achieve the laid-out targets for the Kisii-based side.

Fathi was officially unveiled last Friday as Shabana’s new boss, taking over from Osborne Monday who left for Nairobi United.

As a CAF A License holder, he previously served as head coach of Ghanaian side Swedru All Blacks where the club won 12 matches, drew nine and lost 13 in the just-concluded season.

`The tactician also served as a long-term assistant coach at Egyptian giants Ismaily SC before taking charge of El Bank El Ahly.

Shabana also unveiled other members of the technical bench including Hesbon Nyabinge (First Assistant Coach) and Hatagekimana Corneille (Strength and Conditioning Coach).

The Club’s Patron and Kisii Governor Simba Arati welcomed the newly-appointed technical team, saying their vast experience will be instrumental to the success of the team next season.

“We have managed to secure a technical bench with international experience in coaching big teams, the head coach from Egypt has worked with teams from various countries, all of whom are doing well in football, ” Arati said.

The Team Manager Elijah Sani, physiotherapist Emmanuel Juma and Kit Manager Absalom Juma retained their roles at the club.

Oasis Hospital will also continue to provide nutritional and medical support through a nutritionist and team doctor assigned to the club.

The new appointments signal Shabana’s intent to build a competitive squad ahead of the 2026/2027 campaign.
