Vulnerable children in Embu town receive Christmas goodies

Christmas came early for orphans and vulnerable children from Toto Love Children’s Home in Embu town after the Lions Club of Embu donated assorted foodstuffs and basic commodities.

The needy children led by the home founder Ruth Ndwiga could not hide their joy after members of the Lions Club gifted them with Christmas goodies and also spent quality time with them on Friday afternoon.

According to the Club First Vice President Makara Kamotho, the initiative was an act of mercy and love in the spirit of celebrating the festive season exemplified by giving.

“We came here to show an act of mercy to the children here who are vulnerable and above everything else need to be shown love so that they can feel they are also important in the society,” Makara noted.

He said, sharing the little they have with the less fortunate children will go a long way in lifting their spirits and also have a reason to celebrate the Christmas and New Year festivities.

“We are happy that this act will energize them as we go into Christmas and also enable them to celebrate like other children in ordinary families,” he added.

He also appealed to other well-wishers to also endeavor to put a smile on those in need during the festive season by sharing what they have however little it may be.

Ms. Ndwiga extended her gratitude to the club for the gesture of exercising an act of humanity that went a long way to making them feel loved and honored.

“We do really appreciate this kind gesture of coming to spend time with us, share what you have with us and also get a deeper understanding of the challenges these children face,” she said.
