By C, KNA

Residents of Kibichoi in Githunguri constituency are set to benefit from improved security services following the commissioning of a new police station in the area.

The modern facility was officially launched in a ceremony attended by Githunguri Member of Parliament Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba, Githunguri Sub County OCPD Mary Kaimenyi, local leaders, and members of the public. The development is expected to ease pressure on neighboring police posts and ensure timely response to incidents of crime within the constituency.

Hon. Wamuchomba, who presided over the handover, described the police station as a significant step in delivering her development pledges and ensuring the safety of residents.

“This police station is not just a structure; it is a sign of government commitment to the people of Kibichoi. We want every resident, every trader, and every farmer to feel protected as they go about their daily work. Security is the foundation of development, and today we are making that foundation stronger,” she said.

She further emphasized that the new station would play a crucial role in creating an enabling environment for business and investment in Githunguri.

Githunguri Sub County OCPD Mary Kaimenyi assured residents that police officers stationed at Kibichoi would serve with professionalism and dedication.

“This facility means faster response times, improved service delivery, and closer interaction between police officers and the people we serve. But for us to succeed, we ask residents to work with us through community policing initiatives. Together, we can create a safer Githunguri,” she said.

The commissioning of the Kibichoi Police Station marks a major milestone in Kiambu County’s efforts to strengthen law enforcement and enhance service delivery. Leaders present at the ceremony noted that the facility will not only reduce crime but also boost community confidence and spur social and economic development.
