Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera is set to file a lawsuit against Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula over defamatory remarks he made against him recently.
Nabwera who spoke to the press outside the Parliamentary office in Lumakanda town said the move follows the numerous abuses Savula has been hurling at him in public gatherings unprovoked.
“I have already instructed my lawyer Danstan Omari to go to court and file two cases. The first one is where he called me a murderer and the second one is where he claimed I am HIV positive,” he stated.
Nabwera who termed the claims baseless said under the lawsuits he will also seek to have a public HIV test with Savula.
“Under the second case I am challenging him and I to take a test publicly to ascertain the truth. I have already asked my lawyer to ask him and me to do the test publically. And I insist publically in the high court of Kenya before competent medical experts,” he said.
Nabwera said under the lawsuits he will be demanding to be paid a paltry Sh.70 million for damages.
