Bandari draw 0-0 with Mathare United

Bandari on Saturday drew 0-0 with fellow Sportpesa Premier League title contender Mathare United at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.

The  draw saw Bandari cementing their top position with 32 points while Mathare climbed to second spot with 30 points dislodging defending champions Gor Mahia who have 29 points.

Bandari started the match strongly with William Wadri displaying good dribbling skills making Mathare United defense look like amateurs in the opening minutes of the match.

In the 10th minute Wadri was tripped at the edge of the danger area but the referee waved play on.

Sportpesa player for the month of January, Abdalla Hassan had to seek medical attention after James Situma dangerously tackled him in the 15th minute.

Mathare’s chance of scoring came in the 20th minute though Chris Ochieng but his opportunity was denied by outstanding goalkeeper Faruk Shikhalo who punched off his dangerous shot

Bandari’s  Moses Mudavadi was superb in the second half rising above the towering Mathare United defenders time and again. The second half was full of missed chances by both teams.
