Property of unknown value was Tuesday destroyed after a fire razed three houses at Kasarani village in Elburgon.
Confirming the incident, the area Assistant County Commissioner, Mr. Naftali Korir said that investigations have commenced to ascertain the cause of the fire.
Korir lauded the effort by the Timsale company fire engine that responded in time and helped in containing the fire that broke out at around 11am.
The residents insisted on the need for the county government to make provision of a fire brigade in the area saying that fire incidents were common thus the need to act fast and curb such instances.
Kasarani village is a slum area where most buildings are wooden structures with some of the population having encroached onto road reserves that hinder ease of access when fire fighters arrive to rescue the situation.
No casualties were reported in this incident.
