Khwisero Member of Parliament Christopher Aseka has emphasised the importance of sustained public participation in driving development, noting that regular consultations with grassroots leaders are vital in identifying community needs and setting priorities.
The MP spoke after holding a consultative meeting with grassroots leaders from Wambulishe, Mundobelwa, Eshibinga and Emalindi sub-locations, where they discussed key challenges affecting residents and explored ways of improving service delivery across the constituency.
Aseka said the forum provided an opportunity for local leaders to present the concerns and aspirations of their communities, adding that such engagements promote inclusive decision-making and strengthen collaboration between leaders and residents.
He noted that the views collected during the meeting would guide the planning and implementation of development projects to ensure they effectively address the needs of the people.
“Sustainable progress is built through continuous consultation, unity of purpose and active community participation. Development is more meaningful when communities are involved in shaping priorities that affect their lives,” said Aseka.
The legislator reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining regular engagements with residents and grassroots leaders, saying open dialogue is key to enhancing accountability and ensuring equitable distribution of resources.
He urged residents to work closely with leaders in supporting development initiatives and safeguarding progress made, stressing that collective responsibility is essential in transforming Khwisero into a more prosperous constituency.
